The baptism of Jesus was a ministry of salvation to bear the sins of humanity. [Christian Testimony 25]

The baptism of Jesus was a ministry of salvation to bear the sins of humanity (Matt. 3:13-17). This symbolizes how Jesus saved us from all sins by bearing the sins of the world upon Himself.

The baptism of Jesus was a ministry of salvation to bear the sins of humanity (Mattew 3:13–17).

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mattew 3:13–17)

This symbolizes how Jesus saved us from all sins by bearing the sins of the world upon Himself. Jesus’s death on the cross eliminated all sins of humanity by paying the price for them. In doing so, He actually fulfilled the old testament sacrifices and prophecies. Jesus received our sins through His baptism and took the punishment for our sins so that believers could receive the removal of sins and be reconciled with God.

As a believer in Jesus Christ who accomplished this ministry of salvation, I am now without sin.

This is because Jesus, who is God, bore my sins — taking away all my sins past, present, and future. When Jesus was baptized and died on the cross, He paid the full penalty for my sins, and His resurrection proved victory over sin and death. Now as a believer, I am set apart from sin and have a new sinless conscience.

I can solve the problem of daily and future sins by acknowledging my sinful nature and knowing that I cannot be saved from sin except through faith in Jesus’s baptism and death. His baptism took away all my sins, and His death on the cross paid the penalty for all my sins. I have received the removal of sins through faith.

Although I believed in Jesus, I was a sinner.

I had sin in my heart before encountering Pastor Paul C. Jong’s teachings even though I believed in Jesus. This was because I did not know the true gospel of the water and the Spirit that washes away all sins. Also, I did not believe in Jesus’s baptism and death on the cross because I did not understand their significance. Consequently, although I believed in Jesus, I was a sinner.

My faith before encountering the true gospel through Pastor Paul C. Jong’s book “Have you truly been born again of water and the Spirit?” from the New Life Mission was incomplete and inaccurate, leading to lack of assurance and peace. I believed in Jesus without understanding the significance of the removal of sins through His baptism. Therefore, I always had sin in my heart and struggled with guilt.

However, now I have complete faith based on complete understanding of the gospel of the water and the Spirit, living as God’s holy child without sin, having complete faith that relies on Jesus’s finished work rather than my own efforts. I am free from sin!
