The Faith We Must Truly Hold On To in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Today’s blog content is a summary of the Sunday sermon by Rev. Paul C. Jong of The New Life Mission.
--------
We are now living in a time when we must prepare for the last days by faith.
When artificial intelligence develops alongside quantum computers, the world will change tremendously.
It seems that whoever rules over artificial intelligence will rule over people, and will integrate every part of human thought, religion, and so on.
Therefore, we must live in the present knowing that this is the kind of world we are in.
When the gospel of the water and the Spirit has been preached throughout this world, people will be divided into believers and unbelievers, and the Lord will come.
Now is the time when the gospel is being spread, and we must live preparing for these last days by faith.
<John 6:53–59>
“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven — not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.’ These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.”
In today’s passage, the Lord said that only those who eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood obtain eternal new life.
How can we eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood?
Eating the flesh and drinking the blood means that, by believing in the work Jesus did to save us from sin, we obtain new life and obtain eternal life.
If we look at this passage, Jesus is referred to as ‘the Son of Man,’ which means that Jesus, who is God, came to this earth clothed in human flesh.
That is, it means that He was incarnated — that God came clothed in human flesh, and in order to remove our sins, He received baptism from John the Baptist on His own body and took upon Himself all the sins of the world, thereby washing away the sins of all of us who believe.
In this way, He bore all the sins of the world by receiving baptism, went to the Cross, shed His blood, and paid the full price for those sins with His own life, thereby saving us from all our sins.
And by rising again from the dead, He gave eternal life to all who believe in their hearts in this work that Jesus accomplished.
‘Eating the flesh and blood of Jesus’
It is not by eating the wheat bread and wine in the Eucharist or the Mass that one becomes a believer in Jesus and one who has received salvation.
The words ‘eating the flesh of Jesus’ mean believing that Jesus came as the Son of Man and received baptism on His body, taking upon Himself all the sins of the world.
The words ‘drinking the blood of Jesus’ mean that, because Jesus received baptism and bore all the sins of the world, He shed His blood and died on the Cross as the judgment for those sins — and the faith that believes in this is what it means to drink His blood.
This is the core of salvation that the Bible speaks of.
In this way, the Lord gave us new life and eternal life through His own flesh and blood, and our believing with our hearts and minds is what it means to eat the Lord’s flesh and drink His blood.
That is why the Lord said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
If we look at the four Gospels in the Bible recorded by the disciples of Jesus, all of them record from the very beginning that the very first thing Jesus did at the start of His public ministry was ‘receiving baptism.’
However, many who say they believe in Jesus, when it comes to being saved from sin, believe only in Jesus’ Cross without knowing the meaning of the baptism Jesus received. As a result, they are not reaching the complete salvation from sin.
If you believe only in the Cross and offer prayers of repentance every time you sin, are the sins in your heart washed away as white as snow?
We human beings sin, regret, offer prayers of repentance — but right away we sin again, and again, sinning until we die.
And so people think that because they believe in Jesus, their sins have been forgiven and they have been saved — but would the Lord acknowledge such faith?
The Lord said to eat His flesh and drink His blood.
The Lord is saying, “I came as the Son of Man, received the baptism of all the sins of the world on My body and washed them away, and shed My blood on the Cross to receive the judgment for those sins, thereby actually removing all the sins of this world. And I rose again from the dead and gave eternal new life to all who believe. Therefore, believe in this work of Mine.”
In Matthew chapter 3, the words about Jesus receiving baptism appear:
“For thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”
Jesus, who came as the Lamb, receiving baptism is what fulfills all righteousness; all the sins of the world were transferred onto Jesus, and that Lamb shed His blood on the Cross and paid the price of those sins. In this way, He saved us through His own work.
We cannot obtain salvation through anything else.
We give true thanks to the Lord, who saved us through His own work.
